These large beautiful garnets come right from North Carolina mine dirt. When polished, they have an incredible deep red color. They can be tumbled, or hand cut, cabbed, polished, or even faceted.
However, because they are rough, you may not know if they are completely transparent until you polish them, but they are all really lovely garnets. When we tumbled 15 of these, 6 of them turned out to be *star garnets with four lined stars shining just under the surface sheen. Those star garnets are worth more than $50 each.
